I have been reading several comments, spanning several social media sites, that the quality of Print on Demand (POD) products from the various sources vary greatly in quality. The quality of POD books from OneShelf (DriveThruRPG) has been called into question in several of the posts I have been reading. Oneshelf uses an outside printing to do meet their POD needs. I have never ordered any physical books from them; what has been your experience with their quality? What about the quality of books from other POD sources? For that matter, do you order POD books? If so, what is your motivation to order these books instead of just getting the PDFs?
For the record I have ordered books from lulu.com and thus far have been very satisfied with their quality and their customer service.

Have you tried http://www.bookpatch.com? I have gotten a book or two there and its cheap and of decent quality. I have never done color though.

Chris,
My concerns are quality of bindings and durability of the printing itself. I will have a look at Bookpatch and I will comment again later.
