Changing Hobby Interests Causes People to Freak

It’s a amazing what happens when you tell friends that you are taking hiatus from parts of your hobby. Some flip out with words of concern and others are like, hey good on you! This is precisely what happened to me yesterday.

I declared on Facebook that I was going to be taking a hiatus from boardgaming and wargaming for the foreseeable future. The decision was two fold, I wanted to spend more time with family and I wanted to focus more on RPGs and other similarly related projects. Now, the comments I received ran the gamut of shocked to encouraging. Either way, it’s all good!

Now back to reading RPGs!

    Good. I’m for that. In fact, you should drop all of it except for family RPGs. The One True Game(s).

      Just refocusing and following a different path for now. Hoping to get more games in locally, but we’ll see. Also, I am not saying I am giving up all other forms of gaming for good.
