Dragon+ What is it?

Want to stay up to date with the latest D&D news, interviews, releases and other such awesomeness? Well, now you can! Wizards announced on 30 April that they were launching the new Dragon+ app for both iOS and Android. You can have all your D&D news on the go. The first installment is reported to feature a closer look at the Elemental Evil story line and how that line plays out in the Princes of the Apocalypse.

This is an interesting development from Wizards. The app is currently available for the iOS upon the launch, Android is forthcoming. Since I am an Android user, I have to wait another day or two to put eyes on the real deal. Right now, Wizards is staying tight-lipped about where the future will lead as it related to Dragon+. Could this be a long term replacement for the now defunct Dragon Magazine? One might think that purely given the name of the new app, but I am not totally convinced of this yet.

I’ll save my judgement until I can see what road this goes down and what the cost will be. I am hopeful that this a positive development and will be a solid addition in their future digital arsenal. I am excited that this will be something awesome!

The original press release can be read here. You can grab the iOS version at the App Store. The Android version will be in the Android Marketplace shortly.
