Well, so it appears to be Christmas Eve and soon the fire will be a light and the house will be deathly still. From time to time, there will be inevitable scratching and clawing on the roof. Even in advance of the evening, off in the distance, I can hear the whistle of a train as if it is being carried on the winds from some previous time. It doesn’t stop and only seems to get louder as the day wears on. What better day to announce the beginning of the upcoming Rolling Boxcars Call of Cthulhu, Horror on the Orient Express campaign!
Beginning in mid to late January 2016, I will undertake the momentous task of running the Horror on the Orient Express campaign for Call of Cthulhu. What the hell have I gotten myself into? Time to finally knock off the remaining GM-rust for infrequently running games! Anyways, I am excited to be running it and getting more CoC time under my belt. In addition to running the campaign, I am going to take the opportunity to Create a regular blog column with session reports or game-related commentary. I am excited about the idea of writing up the session reports about the intrepid investigators as they try to solve the mystery and avoid going insane!
I have hopes of recording and streaming the game as well, but there are logistical hurdles I am trying to overcome as we speak. I know some folks are not keen on being recorded and I can appreciate that. If I do decide to go down this particular road, it will be with the full concurrence of every player.
If you are someone who is interested in playing in this campaign, I am still looking for one or two players to fill vacant seats. All I ask is that if you want to play, you commit to sticking it out for the entire campaign. We’ll be playing every other Sunday, but frequency could shift from time to time. Game time will be 0800-1100 EST (1300-1600 UTC). We estimate that it could take 1 to 1.5 years to complete. The duration is really dependent on how the investigators proceed and how many of the side scenarios they get themselves into. If you’re interested, you can email me at rollingboxcarsblog@gmail.com.
