On Deck – The Scheldt Campaign

Hey wargamers, this weekend I be starting into The Scheldt Campaign by Brian Train which was recently published by Hollandspiele Games. I am looking forward to this game. I am particularly interested in the topic itself as it is not one I have explored in the past. I am also looking forward to checking out the mechanics used. Look for a review of this game in the next few weeks.

If you have an interest in playing and contributing your thoughts to the review, please let me know. There is a vassal module for this game for those not local to Chateau Modoc.

The rules are available online at Boardgame Geek

      Brian,

Thank you for the comment. I suspect I will enjoy the game. I am curious to see how the mechanics works using Task Force headquarters. The logistical angle appeals to me.

It’s not logistics so much as it is organization for operations and focusing/support of efforts to back these operations up. The logistics is kind of baked into that – the game has no distinct supply rules, at least not a discrete rules section like in other games at this scale. This is also a game with serious time pressure on the Allies, and the Germans have to conduct an intelligent defence.

        Brian,

Thanks for the clarification. The use of the command chits is becoming more apparent as I read more of the rules.
