About Me

Welcome to Rolling Boxcars!

This blog will serve as a central location for me to blog about all of my gaming related mind jarring topics; of which there will be numerous! From time to time there will be guest bloggers that may run the gamut from game designers to rpg authors and to my good friends whom are dedicated gamers themselves.

Who am I? My name is Modoc31 <— slightly ambiguous, but useful or you can call me DM Modoc. I am a lifelong gamer who enjoys all manner of rpg, boardgames and hex-and-counter wargames. I have my “I love” genres and games and I also have my “this sucks!” genres and games. I am highly opinionated, but I promise to make every effort to back up my opinion with relevant fact and/or fanfare.

What can you expect? My intent is to blog about all things game related and I am most likely to include most, if not all, of the following and then some:
– Game reviews
– Playtest comments
– Kickstarter banter
– Game related editorials
– Game related rants and raves
– Conventions reviews
– Website reviews

Getting involved — I encourage every reader to get involved by commenting on posts, asking questions and sharing with your friends. Let’s bring the gaming conversation to everyone!

Are you a designer or author? Want me to look at your product? Email me at rollingboxcarsblog@gmail.com to work out the details.

Without further ado, let’s do this!

    Hello Modoc,

I saw you playing C&C: ancients but never got back to play a game.

The picture of the large table was a WWII game Pegasus Bridge, WWII using Bolt Action rules. I agree completely with your review of the convention, it’s a great one.

      Dick,

Thanks for identifying the WWII game! I have bolt action as well but have yet to really play it. Just another one of the things on my To Do list. I hope to be back next year!
